What About Listening to your body?

Have you ever heard of having your stomach pumped? For years I thought that meant to stick a tube down your throat and suck out the contents??? But, what actually happens is they pump in activated charcoal in a slurry liquid form. Yuck! But the reason they do that is because charchol absorbs what it comes in contact with. So if you've ingested poison, overdosed on drugs, or have been given something toxic - pump in the charcoal. It's part of the "Universal Antidote". The charcoal will absorb the noxious substance.

Okay, so what about listening to your body? So often people are creatures of comfort. If you have an episode of nausea - and let's say you've got a stomach virus, or perhaps a little case of food poison. Your body's natural tendency is to initiate that vomit reflex. Why? to get the yuck out as fast as possible. Vomitting is your body's way of getting something irritating, toxic or noxious out pdq. BUT who likes to vomit? So what we've been conditioned to do is to "take something" to stop the unpleasant vomitting. But, what have you done? Stop your body from doing it's job in the natural recovery process. Now, the vomitting stops, then the noxious substance doesn't get out, but passes a little farther down the tube. Then oh, no! here comes the diarrhea. It may take a week to recover from the stomach "bug".

What About Listening TO Your Body? Recognize the innate intelligence and wisdom of the body in attempting to rid itself of toxins. How can you assist? Instead of interfering? Charcoal! Perhaps keep some activated charcoal in capsule form in your medicine kit. No charcaol - no worries; just burn some toast (black) scrape the charcoal off onto a cup, add a little water to make a slurry & drink it down. What happens is the charcoal absorbs the toxins (virus, poisons, etc) and it will stop the vommitting and will pass within 24 hours out, no diarrhea either.

So next time the nausea & vommiting begins reach for the charcoal. Work with your body instead of against it.
